Endorsement Requirements

Endorsement Requirements
Endorsements are earned by section players who have completed the necessary sectional endorsement requirements. Endorsement enables eligible players to participate in selected National Level 1 tournaments. Intermountain endorsement will occur three times per year, immediately following the ITA Summer Sectional Championship, the ITA Great Pumpkin Sectional Championship and the ITA Snowball Sectional Championship. The Spring and Winter endorsement periods are Direct (see DIRECT ENDORSEMENT below).  The Summer Endorsement will be calculated using the last six (6) months of tournament results with the Point Per Round Ranking System (see INDIRECT ENDORSEMENT below).  In order to be eligible for endorsement to a Level 1 National Event, a junior player must participate in the Intermountain Junior Sectional Championship, in the age they are seeking endorsement, that is held immediately prior to the USTA Level 1 National tournament(s) for which endorsement is sought in addition to any other endorsement requirements set forth below.  There will be no waiver of the requirement of play in the immediately preceding Intermountain Junior Sectional Championship unless a junior is invited by the USTA and participates in an international tournament or event, a USTA National event, or in a professional tournament which conflicts with the Snowball, Summer or Great Pumpkin Sectional Championship.  All waivers must first be approved by the JCC.

    1.  Indirect Endorsement (Summer 2009 Endorsement) -
Indirect Endorsement is based on a player’s record from the past six-month (6) period.  Players will be endorsed based on points earned at sanctioned District, Circuit, Sectional, and USTA National Level 1 Tournaments.  Players must compete at the Summer Sectional in the age division they are seeking endorsement.

    2.  Direct Endorsement (Winter 2009 and Spring 2010 Endorsement) -
Direct Endorsement means that players will play off at the 2009 Great Pumpkin Sectional Championship and the 2010 Snowball Sectional Championship for positions on the endorsement list. Numbers one through six (1-6) will be determined by on court play off matches. Players who finished 7-8, 9-12, 13-16, 17-24, 25-32, 33-48, 49-64 and 65-96 will be listed in alphabetical order within each numbered bracket.
