The USTA Intermountain would like to invite you to attend the Section Coaches Development Workshop, October 9 – 11, 2009 in Denver, Colorado at the Holiday Inn Select in Cherry Creek.

The workshop will feature guest speaker, Rodney Harmon, former Director of Men’s tennis for USTA High-Performance (2002-2008). As an attendee, you will select from sessions presented by program experts on topics such as: player development, tennis teaching methodology, technique and tactics, HS coaching, understanding player competencies, and a 3 hour QuickStart training session. The event will also feature on-court demonstrations that support training techniques for recreation and intermediate players. An added value to the workshop is the opportunity for coaches from a variety of teaching experiences to network, exchange ideas, and identify opportunities for collaborating to increase tennis participation, and develop young talent.

Workshop Information:
• Cost: $100
• Meals provided (except lunch on Saturday)
• Complimentary opening night reception for conference attendees

3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. On-Court Workshop
6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Welcome Reception

Saturday, Oct. 10  
7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. Continental Breakfast
8:30 a.m. – 9:15 a.m. General Session
9:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. Breakout Sessions
11:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Breakout Sessions
12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Lunch (On Your Own)
2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. On-Court Session
3:45 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. On-Court Session
5:15 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. On-Court Activity
6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Dinner

Sunday, Oct. 11
7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. Continental Breakfast
8:30 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. Closing Session

Out of town guests are eligible to apply for a limited number of scholarships for travel assistance on a first come/first serve basis. Please contact Adele Sobieski for an application (
asobieski@ita.usta.com ). Hotel accommodations are complimentary for out of town guests. Double occupancy required. If a spouse attends, registered attendees are responsible for half the room cost. Please indicate your need for these accommodations on the registration form and contact the hotel to book your room under USTA/Intermountain.
